Building specialised and authentic homes is a universal dream, but the process of selecting each item can become taxing. Providing an all-in-one solution to home decor through specially curated looks built to suit every aesthetic, Vaaree secured $4 million in seed funding led by Surge, Peak XV Partners’ rapid scale-up programme. The round also saw participation from investors including PeerCapital, All In Capital, and Better Capital. Vaaree was part of Surge’s eighth cohort, and the firm had recently announced its ninth cohort.

The home decor marketplace said it planned to use the fresh funds to accelerate hiring and enhance the user experience on its online platform. The company also identified merchandising, curation, supply chains, and omnichannel experiences as focus areas.

“We’ve got great traction and response online, and now we’re poised to make an even greater impact with our first physical store in Bangalore. With the infusion of this latest round of funding, we’re set to catalyse growth across various fronts, from expanding our team to investments in cutting-edge technology and AI applications. This will bolster critical areas including curation, merchandising, supply chains, seamless omnichannel experiences, and unwavering support for countless households nationwide,” said co-founder Varun Vohra.

Established in February 2022, Vaaree was led by Garima Luthra, Pranav Arora, and Varun Vohra. The Bengaluru-based startup offered products across categories including dining, kitchenware, and gardening supplies.

That October, the company launched its first retail store at Forum South Bangalore Mall. The store carried more than 2,000 products, including kitchenware and bedding, and featured curated lifestyle looks that changed weekly.

Vaaree’s online presence had grown since its launch in May 2022. At the time of the announcement, the website listed more than 20,000 products and the company reported delivering more than 150,000 products to homes across India. The startup had also raised a pre-seed round in early 2022, backed by investors including Kunal Shah, Arjun Vaidya, Vineeta Singh, Ghazal Alagh, Varun Dua, Manish Dugar, Anjali Bansal, Suhail Sameer, Prabhu Rangarajan, Mohan K., and Ruchi Deepak.
